The Interim Crypto Accountant is responsible for managing and reconciling cryptocurrency transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements related to digital assets. This role supports the Finance department by tracking crypto asset movements, preparing journal entries, and assisting with audits involving blockchain-based transactions. The Crypto Accountant collaborates with internal teams to implement best practices for digital asset accounting and supports the development of policies and procedures for crypto asset management. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of both traditional and digital asset accounting principles.
This role will work a sporadic and fluctuating schedule.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, required.
Experience: Five (5) or more years of professional accounting experience with two (2) or more years of direct experience in cryptocurrency or digital asset accounting required. Experience with cryptocurrency transactions and blockchain technology, required. Experience in public accounting or financial services, preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s): CPA, preferred.
Software: Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, required. Experience with crypto accounting software (e.g., Bitwave, CoinTracker), preferred. Experience with general ledger systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks), preferred.
