Job summary

Ripple in New York is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, close, and governance across Ripple Treasury and offshore entities. You will drive intercompany consolidation, asset accounting, and management reporting in a fast-growing digital asset company.

The role requires CPA, 10+ years in financial services, and deep US GAAP expertise. You will build a small accounting team and leverage data tools to automate processes.

Qualifications

• Active CPA certification required.
• 10+ years progressive accounting in financial services or trading.
• Strong US GAAP technical skills including consolidation, intercompany, equity method, revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & General Ledger — own monthly/quarterly/annual close for all in-scope entities; prepare US GAAP financial statements with intercompany balances and sub-consolidations; manage revenue recognition, accruals, fixed assets, and balance sheet substantiation.
• Intercompany & Consolidation — manage all intercompany transactions; design elimination policies; prepare sub-consolidation workpapers; support transfer pricing documentation.
• BVI Entity Governance — maintain books for BVI holding/operating entities; coordinate with offshore counsel; manage equity accounting and intercompany support.
• Digital Asset Accounting — apply ASC 820 and ASU 2023-08; reconcile on-chain/off-chain positions; monitor SEC/FASB/IASB guidance.
• Management Reporting — produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board packages; support budgeting and CFO ad hoc analysis.
• Internal Controls & Audit — maintain control environment; be external audit contact; document policies; remediate gaps.
• Team & Systems — lead a small accounting team; use Python/data tools to automate reconciliations; partner with Tech on ERP enhancements.
