Job summary

Sompo is seeking a Crop Insurance Adjuster to support MPCI, Private Products and Named Peril claims in a remote role for the NW Missouri and SW Iowa region. Travel up to 50% within the Midwest is required.

You will build relationships with policyholders, adjusters, and agents, and determine indemnities per FCIC and state guidelines. Ideal candidates have 2 years' crop insurance claims experience, CAPP certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CAPP certification and valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and applicable State license.
• 2 years' experience handling crop insurance claims preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and other adjusters.
• Record and transmit loss information to determine potential damages per FCIC, NCIS and Company procedures.
• Complete field inspections, read maps and aerial imagery, measure fields and storage bins.
• Utilize company software proficiently including daily monitoring of all company communications.
• Follow FCIS, State, and Company rules and regulations for MPCI and Private Products.
• Complete initial and ongoing training and certifications as required by FCIC and State Regulations.
• Explain adjusting procedures and related findings to the policyholder and agent.
• Perform fact-finding and investigate crop damage, record information, and transmit information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
• Train field claims staff on claim procedures and best practices.
• Willingness to learn new crops.
