The position involves analyzing patient accounts, understanding payor contracts, and using appropriate software to identify and resolve credit balances.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in reimbursement or accounts receivable within healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance and patient payments to identify causes of credit balances.
• Post refunds as needed and ensure account accuracy.
• Understand payor contracts in terms of payments and refunds.
• Identify overpayments and request refunds per hospital policies.
• Post payments, refunds, and adjustments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Monitor trends and report cash posting/credit balance issues to leadership.
• Develop workflows to improve internal processes and efficiency.
• Maintain QMS procedures and comply with HIPAA requirements.
