Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, is seeking a Credit Balance Specialist to analyze credit balances, facilitate account resolution, and post refunds. The role requires professional customer interaction and adherence to MEDTEAM methodologies.

This remote position welcomes candidates anywhere in the US in the Central timezone. The wage is $18 - $25 per hour, with opportunities to grow and contribute to continuous improvement within MEDHOST's Quality Management System.

Qualifications

• Ability to analyze insurance and patient payments to identify causes of credit balances.
• Experience interpreting payor contracts with respect to payments and refunds.
• Proficiency with software/reporting to identify credit balances and determine refunds.
• Ability to identify overpayments and request refunds while following hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze credit balances on patient accounts to determine causes.
• Post refunds and adjustments as needed to ensure account accuracy.
• Understand payor contract terms related to payments and refunds.
• Identify overpayments and request refunds to the appropriate party.
• Maintain documentation of customer interactions and processes.
• Assist leadership with process improvements and special projects.
