Job summary

American Equipment Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer II with a strong background in crane design and advanced proficiency in SolidWorks. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, hold a SolidWorks Professional Certification (CSWP), and preferably possess the CSWE credential.

This role designs custom crane systems and components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet safety and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably crane design or heavy equipment
• SolidWorks Professional Certification required; CSWE preferred
• Experience with PDM and part creation; GD&T knowledge

Responsibilities

• Design and develop crane systems and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Prepare and adapt models for drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to meet requirements
• Support design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety, and ISO procedures
• Create/submitt fabrication drawings, BOMs, spare parts lists, and manuals
