Cognizant is seeking a senior Couchbase DBA to remotely manage and optimize Couchbase clusters across production and non-production environments. The role emphasizes high availability, performance tuning, and scalable data models with secure, auditable practices.

The position includes backups, DR planning, and upgrades with minimal business disruption, plus eligibility for Cognizant’s incentive program. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Experience: Couchbase DBA with 10+ years.
• Strong knowledge of Couchbase upgrades, security, monitoring, and automation.
• Experience in architecture, data modeling, HA and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Couchbase clusters across prod and non-prod for high availability and performance.
• Design scalable Couchbase architectures, cluster config, replication, and capacity planning.
• Tune performance, optimize SQL++ (N1QL) queries, indexing and troubleshoot issues.
• Handle backups, disaster recovery, failover, and XDCR.
• Plan upgrades, patching, rebalancing, and routine maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Monitor health, perform RCAs, and implement preventive measures.
• Implement RBAC, encryption, auditing, and security compliance.
