Cognizant is seeking a seasoned Couchbase DBA to manage and scale Couchbase clusters in a remote capacity. The role emphasizes high availability, robust data modeling, and preventative maintenance across production and non-production environments.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years with Couchbase DB administration and cluster management.
• Design scalable Couchbase architectures, data modeling, HA, and scaling strategies.
• Proficient in SQL++ (N1QL), indexing, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Couchbase database clusters across prod and non-prod environments.
• Design and implement scalable Couchbase architectures, including cluster config, data modeling, replication, and capacity planning.
• Perform database performance tuning, SQL++ query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting.
• Manage backup and recovery, DR, failover, and XDCR across environments.
• Plan and execute upgrades, patching, cluster rebalancing, and maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Monitor health, resolve incidents, perform RCA, and implement preventive measures.
• Implement security standards: RBAC, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with app, infra, and cloud teams on migrations, automation, and performance improvements.

• The annual salary for this position is between $73,350 $115,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
