Job summary

Leland Saylor Associates is seeking a mid-level Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor to provide cost management, cost control and cost planning/estimating services on client office and manufacturing projects with a Bay Area team. This is mostly remote with occasional travel around the Bay Area for client needs.

Candidates should have strong communication skills and the ability to work in a client-facing environment, with authorization to work in the United States or visa within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction cost management or cost planning.
• Degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering or related field.
• Full lifecycle cost management on commercial real estate projects.
• AACE, ASPE, RICS or CIQS accreditation is valuable but not required.
• Experience leading cost management on medium to large projects of medium to high complexity.
• Software proficiency in CostX, OST or Bluebeam; Power BI and HCSS are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide estimate and cost planning including final cost plan.
• Review design team and GC cost estimates and develop pricing.
• Reconcile changes and ensure data accuracy with contractors.
• Meet GC and owner PM to gather status info for cost estimates.
• Prepare executive summaries and comments on submissions.
• Estimate and negotiate change orders through construction lifecycle.
• Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects.
• Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control.
