Job summary

Leland Saylor Associates seeks an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to deliver cost management, estimating, and control services for U.S.-based clients. The role collaborates with a San Francisco Bay Area team and requires on-site presence at the Walnut Creek office three days a week.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in full-lifecycle cost management and estimating, strong client-facing skills, and familiarity with U.S. unit costs and bidding processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in full lifecycle cost management and estimating on private and public construction projects.
• Degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
• Professional accreditation such as CCP/CEP, RICS/CIQS/AIQS or CPE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide estimating and cost planning, including presenting final cost plans.
• Collaborate with design services team, GC, and owner to develop and reconcile estimates.
• Reconcile changes and assist GC to ensure data accuracy.
• Meet with project stakeholders to gather status and update estimates.
• Prepare comments on contractor submissions and executive summaries.
• Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the lifecycle.
• Inform design priorities based on cost impact.
• Manage cost checks, progress valuations, and pay-application reviews.
