Job summary

Border States is seeking a Cost Analyst to support cost management strategies for open market product categories and vendors. The role focuses on cost competitiveness, SPA rationalization, and identifying savings through data analysis and market intelligence.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain or related field, with SAP MM familiarity and strong analytic capabilities to present findings to branch and company stakeholders. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in supply chain, procurement, or related field.
• Experience in procurement, pricing, costing, or distribution preferred.
• Strong SAP MM knowledge and forecasting experience preferred.
• APICS certification or knowledge of MRP preferred.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Review product categories/vendors to determine cost competitiveness and market relevance.
• Engage branch/regional personnel and stakeholders during category evaluations.
• Evaluate market conditions, vendor alignment, and strategies.
• Understand current cost structures (SPAs, regional vs branch, vendor programs).
• Capture local market feedback to complete competitive analyses.
• Use data analytics to gather market intelligence on pricing competitiveness.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and implement results.
• Negotiate pricing with vendors as needed.
• Identify cost-management opportunities and validate savings.
• Analyze cost differences by location, region, and customer type.
• Support improving SPA costs and pricing strategies across customers.
• Document cost savings and ensure compliance with processes.
