Border States, a 100% employee-owned electrical distributor, seeks a Cost Analyst to support cost management and cost competitiveness across key product categories and vendors.

The role focuses on SPA rationalization, cost savings, and market analysis. Remote work options are available, with the position located in Fargo, ND. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in a related field and SAP/forecasting experience.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• No minimum years of prior experience required; relevant experience in procurement, sales, pricing, costing, supply chain or distribution is preferred.
• SAP MM knowledge and forecasting experience preferred.
• APICS certification or knowledge of MRP and supply-chain knowledge preferred.
• Strong PC/Windows, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and SAP skills preferred.

• Review cost competitiveness by branch, area or region to ensure market relevance and cost confidence.
• Engage branch/regional personnel and stakeholders during category evaluations.
• Evaluate market conditions, vendor/category alignment and strategies.
• Understand current cost structures including SPAs and vendor programs.
• Capture local market feedback to complete competitive market analyses.
• Use data analytics to gather pricing competitiveness insights.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and implement results.
• Negotiate pricing with vendors based on analysis.
• Identify cost management opportunities and manage costs.
• Analyze cost differences across locations, regions, and customer types.
