Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Specialist / Controls Systems Engineer to join our federal team, supporting U.S. government sites outside the Continental United States.

The role involves leading HVAC/BAS projects, coordinating installation and commissioning, and delivering owner/operator training, with up to 80% international travel. Base salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000, with per diem for travel and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning and/or programming digital HVAC controls (DDC).
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, facilities management systems, site prep.
• Knowledge of control theory and HVAC equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows environment.
• Ability to convey technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Travel up to 80% to international/overseas locations (no war zones).
• U.S. citizen able to obtain DoD security clearance; active clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project execution for HVAC and BAS projects with customers.
• Oversee hardware installation and software programming to established standards.
• Manage loading, verification and commissioning of all system controllers; provide documentation.
• Test and modify system software as needed.
• Provide coaching and technical assistance to subcontractors.
• Conduct site-specific training for owner/operator and provide operation manuals.
• Follow safety standards and prioritize safety of employees and subcontractors.
