Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is seeking a Controls Engineer to support control systems and automated production equipment across multiple facilities. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, documentation, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate with Operations, IT, and project teams, ensuring compliant, efficient automated processes. Strong electronics and mechanical knowledge essential; CPG/food industry experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of controls experience in a manufacturing environment is required; consumer packaged goods or food/beverage experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, controls, mechanical and electrical components found in food manufacturing machinery and safety standards for food production equipment is required.
• Hands-on technical experience with installation and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment in a sanitary environment is required.
• Continuous improvement mindset and knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma techniques and tools are preferred.
• Experience creating, executing, and monitoring manufacturing technical standards and procedures is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues involving control systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Interface with Operations, Technical Services, and internal/external resources on design issues.
• Support implementation of automation-driven cost efficiency initiatives.
• Lead or support problem-solving methodologies and root cause analyses.
• Support training of peers, Operators, and Maintenance staff on control methods.
• Ensure technical solutions comply with security practices and IT audit requirements.
• Provide technical support to capital project teams.
• Support startup protocols, including Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, technical standards, and control records.
• Support change management and backup procedures for automation programs.
