Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide advanced control system support for our automated production equipment. You will troubleshoot, optimize, and lead startup and commissioning activities, maintain technical documentation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency across the facility.

This fully remote role is based out of Illinois, Texas, or Georgia and requires travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of controls experience in manufacturing; CPG or food/beverage preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, controls, mechanical and electrical components in food equipment.
• Hands-on experience installing and repairing packaging equipment in sanitary environments.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient with CMMS; SAP Plant Maintenance knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with control systems and automated equipment.
• Interface with Operations and IT on design and operational issues.
• Support operational cost efficiency initiatives driven by data analysis.
• Lead or support root-cause analyses to improve processes.
• Assist training of peers on control methods and processes.
• Ensure solutions comply with security practices and audit requirements.
• Provide technical support to capital project teams.
• Support startup protocols, including FACT and SAT, commissioning and verification.
• Prepare and maintain technical standards and control system records.
• Support change management and backup procedures for automation programs.
