Job summary

R.D. Barnett PLLC is seeking a hands-on Controller to own day-to-day finance, deliver insightful analysis, and improve financial systems.

You’ll manage accounting, billing, receivables, payables, payroll, and close, while building reporting, forecasts, and workflows to support leadership decisions. You’ll collaborate with our Finance Operations Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate books, strong controls, and timely close.

Qualifications

• Ownership of full accounting cycle including month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements and schedules.
• Ability to build forecasts and cash-flow projections with financial judgment.
• Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and coordinating with vendors and partners.
• Strong Excel and systems skills; able to analyze data and learn new platforms quickly.
• Clear communication of financial information in plain language to leadership.
• Discretion handling sensitive financial, payroll, and employee information.

Responsibilities

• Own the firm’s day-to-day accounting, billing, receivables, payables, payroll, and close activities.
• Develop stronger reporting, forecasts, controls, and workflows.
• Coordinate with outside partners (tax, banking, legal, insurance, benefits).
• Turn financial data into clear recommendations for leadership and decision-making.
