Job summary

BELAY, Atlanta-based but remote across the United States, is seeking a Controller to provide trusted advisory and fractional controller services for small- to mid-sized clients. This full-time, remote role requires Eastern or Central time zone residence due to in-person meetings and travel.

You will lead client relationships, oversee accounting deliverables with a focus on growth, profitability, and compliance, and collaborate across accounting teams for high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
• 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong Controller-level expertise, including explaining financial statements and budgets
• Experience with close processes and best practices
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Fathom, Shopify, Cin7, and Amazon

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and lead financial review calls
• Advise on complex client accounting matters and provide guidance on accounting decisions
• Identify risks and opportunities to support client growth and ensure compliance
• Collaborate with senior accountants and CFOs to deliver high-quality client deliverables
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance
