Job summary

Autoscribe is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting function in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will oversee AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalable processes.

Reporting to the CEO, you will drive internal controls, forecasting, and strategic financial insights. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in accounting with 4+ years in leadership, a solid GAAP background, and proficiency in Excel and SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• CPA, CMA, or CCM strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 4+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in fintech, payment processing, or high-volume transaction environments preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems.
• SQL or data querying experience is a plus.
• Strong command of GAAP.
• Familiarity with tax considerations including Section 179.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll.
• Oversee reconciliation of high-volume payment flows and trust account disbursements.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention measures.
• Manage cash concentration and liquidity planning.
• Coordinate with external tax partners for filings.
• Support budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
