Job summary

Trust & Will, a remote-first leader in digital estate planning, seeks a Controller to steer financial operations during a growth phase. You will own accounting for Trust & Will and subsidiaries, drive the month-end close, tax compliance, and internal controls, while partnering with the CFO and FP&A.

The role demands 10+ years in accounting with 4–5 in leadership, AI/automation experience, and proven ability to scale processes and develop teams; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years accounting experience with 4–5 years in a Controller or leadership role in a high-growth environment.
• CPA preferred; experience with AI-enabled accounting processes is a plus.
• Experience using Ramp and Rillet; strong proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel.
• Leadership experience managing direct reports and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for Trust & Will and subsidiaries; manage month-end close and tax compliance.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to scale operations.
• Lead audits and keep accounts accurate down to the last detail.
• Manage accounting tech stack; collaborate with FP&A for system efficiency.
• Cost analysis with CFO and FP&A to identify optimization opportunities.
• Oversee vendor relationships and ensure policy compliance.
