Job summary

Safeguard Law Group, a consumer protection firm, seeks an Associate Attorney for a remote Mississippi-focused role. You will manage a heavy caseload, draft pleadings and memos, and communicate with clients and opposing parties while performing legal research. Mississippi admission and 1+ year at a law firm are required; some in-person court appearances may be needed.

The position offers growth within a collaborative team of experienced attorneys in a dynamic legal practice.

Qualifications

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in Mississippi.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels throughout the organization.
• Strong legal research skills — proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supervising a heavy & diversified caseload of the Firm’s clients in Mississippi.
• Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims.
• Legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• While this role is based from home, you will be required to travel for in court appearances.
