Job summary

Wipfli’s Accounting Advisory practice is seeking a Manager with strong construction accounting expertise to provide controller-level advisory and lead key client engagements. You’ll serve as the primary contact for construction clients, deliver accurate financial reporting, review WIP schedules, and guide process improvements.

This role can be worked remotely anywhere in the US, leading a remote team and mentoring staff within a collaborative, people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 4–6 years of experience in public or private accounting.
• 3+ years managing associates and/or teams.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of job costing, WIP, retainage, and change orders.
• Understanding of project-based cash flow dynamics and timing differences between billing and costs.

Responsibilities

• Review financial reporting packages for quality, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Prepare benchmarking data and KPIs to support client insights.
• Present reporting packages and findings to clients as directed.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.
• Provide technical accounting support to clients and their teams on complex issues.
• Lead and coordinate US and offshore engagement team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
