Job summary

Wipfli is seeking a Manager with strong construction accounting expertise to provide controller-level advisory and lead key client engagements.

In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for construction clients, delivering accurate financial reporting, reviewing work-in-progress schedules, and offering strategic guidance to improve processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 4–6 years in public or private accounting.
• 3+ years supervising associates/teams.
• Exposure to multi-state operations and contractor compliance considerations.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Review financial reporting packages and work papers for quality, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Prepare and analyze benchmarking data and KPIs to support client insights.
• Present completed reporting packages and findings to clients as directed.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models in alignment with client engagement terms.
• Provide technical accounting support to clients and their teams on complex issues.
• Identify operational inefficiencies through client discovery sessions and recommend actionable improvements.
• Lead and coordinate the efforts of US and offshore engagement team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Lead and coach staff and senior accountants, providing guidance on accounting and financial reporting matters.
