Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking a Computer Science/Engineering intern to apply computer vision techniques (CNNs and ViTs) to enhance lunar imagery during landing. The position supports work at the Hampton, VA facility or remotely, with pay ranging based on education and location.

The internship runs from September 8, 2026 to December 18, 2026, and requires progress toward a degree in physics, CS, or engineering, plus programming in C/C++, Python, or Julia and PyTorch experience.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a degree in Physics, computer science, or Engineering.
• Working knowledge of CNNs/ViTs and PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Apply computer vision techniques (CNNs/ViTs) to improve degraded imagery for lunar landing.
• Iterate designs based on feedback from engineering teams (GN&C, mechanical, flight test).
• Produce engineering drawings and CAD packages for design reviews.
• Develop reports and presentations describing design decisions and plans.
• Attend meetings and workshops as needed.
