Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia, Inc is seeking a Computer Hardware Engineer to design, develop, test, and support computer hardware and peripherals for a remote position within the United States. You must be legally authorized to work in the US and visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, selecting hardware, building and testing prototypes, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Three (3) or more years of directly related technical experience.
• Experience in government, regulated, or security-conscious environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user and system needs, specifications, performance, cost, and security requirements to recommend suitable hardware configurations.
• Design, develop, assemble, and modify computer hardware and peripherals, and evaluate hardware/software interfaces with engineering staff and other stakeholders.
• Build, simulate, and test prototypes; verify equipment against specifications, analyze results, and recommend corrective changes.
• Prepare functional specifications and maintain documentation for requirements, configurations, testing, and changes.
• Select hardware and materials that meet specifications, monitor equipment performance, and recommend equipment purchases, modifications, or environmental controls.
• Provide technical support, training, and implementation guidance to users, engineers, suppliers, and other teams; coordinate technicians and support personnel as needed.
