Job summary

Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) is seeking a Compliance Specialist III-level professional in the Behavioral Health Administration. The role operates independently to assess complaints and critical incident reports, coordinating with licensing staff to ensure timely and compliant processing and documentation.

Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data on provider operations, interpreting guidelines for stakeholders, and supporting ongoing program oversight and enforcement

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience in public or legislative policy, and/or complex regulatory experience.
• Experience interpreting guidelines and communicating with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex topics and formulate policy recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate complaints and CIRs and determine next steps with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with licensing managers to ensure CIRs and complaints are processed and tracked.
• Provide technical assistance to providers and the public on regulations and guidelines.
• Prepare reports and summaries from tracking data for unit projects.
• Support background checks on licensee owners/managers and assist with rule waivers.
