Job summary

iBynd is seeking a Compliance Manager to own and mature the compliance program across iBynd and SEMSEE. This fully remote role partners with the COO, Finance, and Engineering to strengthen policies, training, audits, and vendor contracts.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years in insurance compliance, direct insurance experience, and hands-on surplus lines tax and licensing knowledge to support growth. Candidates should be comfortable operating in a tech-forward environment.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of compliance experience in the insurance industry.
• Direct insurance industry experience is required—insurtech, MGA/MGU, wholesale broker, or carrier.
• Hands-on surplus lines premium tax experience and multi-state filings.
• Working knowledge of surplus lines regulation and licensing for wholesale distribution.

Responsibilities

• Own and mature the compliance program across iBynd and SEMSEE, including policies, training, monitoring, and audits.
• Identify gaps, prioritize by risk, close them, and set controls for scalable growth.
• Oversee state licensing footprint, ensuring licenses are current, accurate and audit-ready.
• Provide tax compliance guidance with accounting on premium trust, fidiciary accounting, and carrier statements.
• Partner with Legal, Tax, and Finance on regulatory and contractual compliance with carriers and vendors.
