Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking an Excess and Surplus Complex Commercial Claims Adjuster to handle litigated and non-litigated CGL claims. This role supports coverage analysis, risk transfer, and claims strategy, with potential remote work and relocation to one of our claims offices.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in CGL claims, strong contract analysis, excellent communication, and licensure as required. CPCU/AIC preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in handling or litigating commercial general liability claims.
• Strong contractual analysis including analysis of insurance contracts for coverage and risk transfer obligations.
• Proficient with paperless claim file systems and related tools.
• High level of technical claim and legal knowledge and skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and interact with internal/external parties effectively.
• Skilled negotiator with strong decision making.
• Adjuster licensing as required; CPCU/AIC designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize exposures and ensure reserving is appropriate and timely.
• Evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities.
• Ensure proper investigation, retain necessary experts, and engage counsel as needed; negotiate strategies.
• Communicate exposures clearly to internal and external audiences.
• Formulate effective resolution strategies for best overall outcomes.
• Travel as needed for mediations, trials, or related meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
