Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking a Director of Claims for the Non-Profit segment. The role leads a team handling high-exposure and complex commercial liability claims across multiple states, with emphasis on coverage analysis, liability assessment, damages evaluation, and settlement strategy.

Remote work options are available in addition to office locations. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of multi-line claims experience, strong leadership, and a JD or equivalent education.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles within the insurance industry.
• 7–10 years of relevant and progressively more responsible claims work across multiple casualty lines.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred
• Multi-jurisdictional expertise.

Responsibilities

• Owns the development and performance of a Non-Profit focused claims team delivering high-complexity commercial liability claims.
• Assigns new claims to team members based on complexity and staff skill.
• Oversees investigation, reserving, litigation management, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims.
• Provides technical guidance on complex coverage, liability, and damages issues.
• Maintains customer service excellence and monitors adherence to policies and procedures.
• Participates in claims roundtables and manages personnel evaluations and development.
