Job summary

The Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to engage individuals with lived experience of poverty, housing instability, and homelessness in public policy advocacy, voter education, and community initiatives across Pennsylvania.

You will lead voter education, organize community conversations, support policy advocacy with the Policy Director, assist with eviction prevention efforts, and help coordinate conferences like Homes Within Reach.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid computer skills including basic data handling.
• Experience with organizations focused on poverty or housing instability.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Lead voter education and engagement initiatives during election years.
• Organize and facilitate community conversations; collect stories to inform policy decisions.
• Coordinate with the Policy Director on legislative advocacy meetings and events.
• Assist with eviction prevention activities and housing-related projects across Pennsylvania.
• Support Homes Within Reach Conference planning and Rural Housing Summit coordination.
• Draft and edit electronic communications; update website content and social media.
• Supervise interns and AmeriCorps members; assist with priorities as needed.
