Job summary

The Signatry is seeking a Managing Editor to uphold our brand voice across all written content and to lead editorial strategy. This role oversees staff and contractors, ensuring high-quality publications from drafts to publication, including newsletters, reports, and website articles.

Ideal candidates have a journalism-related degree and 4+ years of professional writing/editing experience, including managing contributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or related field with 4+ years in writing/editing
• Experience as managing editor or similar role
• Experience communicating complex topics clearly, including in regulated industries
• Experience managing multiple contributors and social media content

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain our established brand voice and style in all written content for The Signatry
• Create and maintain editorial calendar for newsletters, website articles, and reports
• Oversee content creation by staff and contractors from draft to publication
• Maintain and update content pieces (guides, fact sheets) regularly
• Write content directly as a writer among staff when appropriate
• Manage relationships with contract writers and onboarding new writers
• Collaborate with Social Media Specialist on content strategy across channels
• Coordinate with legal, investing, and donor care teams to meet brand and compliance standards
• Other duties as assigned within role capabilities
