Job summary

First American's GO Title division seeks a Commercial Title Examiner in New York. You will analyze public records, verify ownership, and identify title issues for large-scale real estate deals, collaborating with underwriters and clients. You will receive tools, training, and support to thrive.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of NY commercial title experience, strong real estate terminology knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office and Adobe. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly related commercial title insurance experience in NY.
• Understanding of real estate terminology and legal concepts.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat/Pro, internet and data platforms.
• Ability to learn company systems and work independently.
• Strong organizational, research and documentation skills.
• Customer-focused communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial transactions from single to multi-property closings.
• Search, examine and connect data across counties and jurisdictions.
• Review leases, deeds, liens, and easements to determine ownership and restrictions.
• Summarize findings and prepare title commitments and reports with precision.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies through thorough research and documentation.
• Collaborate with underwriters and internal partners to maintain accuracy.
