Job summary

Canto, a leading DAM platform, is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to shape and scale our legal function for a scaling SaaS business. The role focuses on commercial contracting, privacy, and GTM collaboration across Sales, Finance, and executives.

In this remote US position, you will own end-to-end contracting operations, implement CLM systems, and drive efficiency through AI-enabled tools while balancing risk and business velocity.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of legal experience in SaaS or technology.
• Strong experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements including MSAs, DPAs, and NDAs.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and related regulations.
• Ability to operate independently, build processes from scratch, and scale legal infrastructure.
• Experience partnering with Sales and GTM teams in high-velocity commercial environments.

Responsibilities

• Own negotiation and execution of commercial SaaS agreements (MSAs, DPAs, NDAs).
• Enforce company positions on non-standard terms and manage escalation paths.
• Train and enable Sales to handle routine negotiations.
• Lead end-to-end contracting for customer and vendor agreements and implement CLM.
• Lead legal aspects of data privacy and regulatory alignment.
