Job summary

Armada is seeking an early career Commercial Counsel to own deals from start to close, joining a small legal team reporting to the Head of Legal. This role offers hands-on transactional experience in a fast-moving AI infrastructure business.

You will negotiate customer and procurement agreements, support GTM and engineering teams, and help scale a growing company while managing risk and compliance across AI, hardware, and data privacy.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one US state bar.
• 3+ years of combined law firm and in‑house experience supporting commercial transactions.
• 2+ years of in‑house experience at a B2B technology company, such as software, hardware, AI, or infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to run commercial negotiations independently and close on schedule.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including NDAs, MSAs, order forms, vendor agreements, reseller and partner agreements, and public sector contracts
• Manage a steady volume of deals independently, with review at key decision points, escalating matters to our Senior Counsels as necessary
• Serve as a day‑to‑day legal partner to the organization, balancing risk against business objectives
• Apply and maintain Armada’s contract templates and negotiation playbooks, and recommend improvements where you see recurring friction
• Research and apply evolving legal and regulatory frameworks across AI, hardware, data privacy, and government contracting, escalating where interpretation is unsettled
• Support international transactions and cross‑border data issues in coordination with senior counsel
• Coordinate with outside counsel on assigned matters, including scoping requests, tracking progress, and summarizing outcomes for internal stakeholders
• Build strong working relationships across functions and adapt communication style for non‑legal audiences
• Maintain accurate contract records in our CLM and support reporting on deal cycle times and recurring negotiation issues
