Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of college counseling experience.
• Extensive knowledge of college applications, admissions requirements, financial aid, and scholarships.
• Strong communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Exceptional writing skills for essays, resumes, and editing processes.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple students through the cycle.
• Masters degree in counseling, higher education, or similar preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized strategy sessions with students from 9th grade to tailor admissions plans.
• Maintain regular communication with students and parents about goals and progress.
• Research and build balanced college lists (reach/target/likely) aligned with interests and budgets.
• Assist students with brainstorming and refining personal statements and essays.
• Manage application timelines and guide accurate completion and highlighting achievements.
• Provide guidance on course selection, standardized testing, and extracurriculars.
• Review and optimize resumes to showcase strengths and accomplishments.
• Prepare students for college interviews with mock sessions and feedback.
• Stay updated on admissions trends to advise effectively.
• Participate in webinars to extend Kaplan's reach and credibility.
• Offer consulting in curriculum development, counselor training, product strategy, and content.
