AdviceKrew is seeking a former college admissions counselor or admissions officer for remote, part-time work. You will conduct one-on-one virtual sessions with high school students and families to guide them through the college admissions process.

The role leverages firsthand admissions experience to help clients develop balanced college lists, plan timelines, and craft authentic application materials. Sessions are hourly, with flexible, student-focused scheduling.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience as a college admissions counselor, admissions officer, or admissions reader at an accredited college or university.
• Strong understanding of undergraduate admissions practices and application review.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to connect with high school students and parents in a supportive, approachable manner.
• Strong writing, editing, and critical-thinking skills.
• Commitment to helping students present their authentic experiences and strengths.
• Comfortable conducting virtual counseling sessions.

Responsibilities

• Guide students and families through the college admissions process.
• Help students develop balanced college lists based on their academic profiles, interests, and goals.
• Provide guidance on application strategy, admissions timelines, and Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision options.
• Share insights into how colleges evaluate applications and what admissions committees look for.
• Advise students on presenting their extracurricular activities, achievements, and personal experiences effectively.
• Provide feedback on college essays and application materials, encouraging students to develop authentic, compelling narratives.
• Help students and parents understand admissions expectations and make informed decisions.
