Job summary

Prepory is a premier college admissions counseling organization offering fully remote positions with flexible schedules. We seek reliable, passionate guides to counsel high school students through the admissions journey, including end-to-end advising, essay mentoring, and strategic college list development.

Ideal candidates will have experience in college admissions, strong communication skills, and availability after school and on weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduated from or worked at a top 50 university or top 20 liberal arts college.
• Familiarity with the U.S. college admissions process and changes.
• Experience in educational or academic support roles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Availability during after-school hours and weekends, including some international time zones.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Commit to work with students for one year or the end of the admission cycle.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with students and families to identify needs, goals, and expectations.
• Provide end-to-end counseling with regular 60-minute advising sessions via Zoom.
• Track deadlines for applications and milestones; assign tasks between sessions.
• Manage a cohort of 5–10 students across 9–12, transfer, grad school, and gap year.
• Support student progress with tailored advising based on location and finances.
• Lead in researching and building a balanced college list reflecting interests.
• Mentor students through writing processes and provide feedback on essays and resumes.
• Offer feedback on resumes, essays, and activities lists between sessions.
• Attend biweekly meetings with 6–8 fellow Prepory coaches and participate in Committee Review.
• Maintain updates with the Program Director and Director of Client Success.
