Job summary

ConnectPrep, LLC is expanding its college admissions team and seeking experienced counselors for a remote contract role. You will guide families through the admissions journey, review curricula and portfolios, and help optimize strategies across ED/REA/EA/RD timelines.

The role emphasizes autonomy, flexible hours, and growth within a fast-paced edtech startup. The position is contract-based (1099) with performance-based bonuses and no guaranteed salary.

Qualifications

• Five years or more as admissions officer/reader in a selective college setting.
• Strong understanding of high school curriculum, AP, IB, and standardized tests (ACT, SAT).
• Experience with grades 7–12, transfers, private/boarding applicants.
• Proven track record of placing students in selective colleges and programs.
• Ability to differentiate applications and build compelling portfolios.
• Experience with athletic recruitment and specialized programs.

Responsibilities

• Advise families and students through the college admissions process.
• Review curriculums, internships, and extracurriculars to strengthen applications.
• Develop and execute strategies for ED/REA/EA/RD pathways.
• Create individualized plans and maintain strong parent communication.
