Job summary

NYC Department of Finance is seeking a Collections Data Analyst to help transform collections operations through analytics. The role focuses on reporting, KPI monitoring, and data-driven insights across multiple databases to improve agent performance and collections outcomes.

The position supports cross-team initiatives, with remote work options up to two days per week under the city pilot program. Strong quantitative skills and experience with SQL/SAS are highly valued.

Qualifications

• A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, public health, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: ...; or
• A bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience in the areas described, including the 18 months of supervisory experience; or
• An associate degree and six years of full-time professional experience in the described areas; or
• A four-year high school diploma and eight years of full-time professional experience with the described requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop reports & dashboards to identify areas of opportunity and provide insights.
• Use statistical tools to produce and develop ad hoc reporting tools to monitor and analyze collections performance to identify risks and opportunities within the operation & Collections inventory
• Leverage multiple databases containing collections information to create a set of reports to provide actionable insights to improve collections & agents' performance.
• Support Collections' objectives, using data extraction and manipulation techniques to provide ad hoc analysis and root cause analysis to support decision making.
• Closely monitor operational KPIs to ensure consistency in execution and trends, and make recommendations to improve profitability.
• Develop reporting to assess performance & quantify benefits of collections initiatives & strategies.
