Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Coding Manager to lead hospital and physician practice coding operations across campuses. You will oversee audits, ensure accuracy, and mentor staff while collaborating with the Director, HIS & Coding.

The role requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC credentials or equivalent, strong ICD-10 and CPT knowledge, and the ability to implement regulatory standards and process improvements across departments.

Qualifications

• 3 years of health information management or coding management experience.
• Associates degree in Health Information Management/Health Information Technology, or 3 years managerial experience.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and E/M coding.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of Hospital Coding Department for workflow and data integrity.
• Manage Physician Practice Coding Department operations for workflow and data integrity.
• Research coding questions and provide coder feedback.
• Ensure concurrent audits and update audit policies.
• Monitor aging and DNB accounts for timely coding and quality.
• Coordinate audits and improve coding accuracy and productivity.
• Provide education to coding and clinical staff on best practices.
• Hire, train and manage coding staff; oversee performance.
• Lead trend analysis in coding/documentation patterns.
• Identify process improvements in the Coding department.
