Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated is seeking a coding quality assurance professional to monitor, assess, and improve the quality, accuracy, and compliance of medical coding practices. You will develop and implement QA programs, analyze medical records, and provide education to coders and clinicians to ensure alignment with AMA, CMS, and other regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding is required.
• 5+ years of Medical Coding Experience required.
• 1+ years of Quality Assurance Experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Knowledge of AMA, CMS guidelines and coding regulations.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement coding quality assurance programs to evaluate accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Ensure coding practices align with AMA, CMS, and other regulatory requirements.
• Analyze medical records and documentation to assess adequacy and specificity of codes.
• Develop and deliver coding education and training for coders and clinicians.
• Identify opportunities to streamline coding workflows and improve accuracy.
• Establish metrics and reporting to monitor coding accuracy, productivity and compliance.
• Collaborate with providers, coders, billing staff and stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve issues.
