Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a learning-focused professional to design, implement, and oversee coding education programs for medical coders and related staff at our Boston area campus and across remote teams. You will develop curricula on CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, ensure compliance, lead live training and online modules, and partner with CDI specialists to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or related field required or preferred
• Experience in coding education and training preferred
• Licenses/certifications listed in the job posting (CCS, CPMA, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CHC, CPB) are desirable

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and update coding education curriculum based on coding guidelines and industry best practices.
• Conduct training sessions, workshops, and webinars for coders and staff on CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, compliance, and documentation improvement.
• Create engaging e-learning modules and online courses for remote learning using multimedia tools.
• Provide hands-on guidance to coders, review coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
• Collaborate with CDI specialists to educate coders on accurate and detailed documentation for coding.
• Conduct coding audits and provide detailed feedback to improve accuracy.
• Offer ongoing education to coding staff on advancements and trends.
• Educate coders on compliance, ethics, and fraud and abuse prevention.
