Job summary

CU Medicine is seeking a Coding Quality Educator II with a Surgery emphasis to join the Coding Services department. This role can be performed 100% remotely and out-of-state candidates will be considered. Responsibilities include audits, education, coder development, and research of coding questions to guide the team.

Requirements include CPC or AHIMA certification and 3–5 years of Surgical coding experience, with preferred CPMA and EMR experience. CU Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• CPC or AHIMA certification required for the role.
• 3–5 years of surgical coding experience with procedural and diagnosis coding expertise.
• Experience with EMR and Practice Management software; strong reporting/analytics skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits and education for coding staff in assigned specialties.
• Collaborate with leadership on projects to support coder development.
• Research coding questions and provide accurate guidance to staff.
• Prepare presentations for education and training of coding groups.
• Monitor coding quality and identify educational opportunities.
