Job summary

Remote role within the United States; telecommute from anywhere. Requires HS diploma, coding certifications, 1+ year inpatient/outpatient coding, DRG experience, and strong typing (45 wpm).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of Inpatient Hospital Coding experience
• 1+ years of DRG methodology
• 1+ years of outpatient coding experience
• 1+ years of Medicare/Medicaid experience
• Mastery level of knowledge of AHA Coding Clinic for ICD-9-CM and ICD-10
• Intermediate level of computer proficiency with strong typing skills (minimum of 45 wpm)

Responsibilities

• Adheres to approved schedule and arrives at work timely
• Maintains accurate accounts of time off in Verint and HR Direct as per guidelines
• Composes appeal letters with data extraction and references medical literature
• Uses encoders and applies ICD-9/10, CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS guidelines
• Communicates effectively and supports HIPAA confidentiality
