Job summary

Qualifications

• Inpatient hospital coding experience (1+ years)
• DRG methodology experience (1+ years)
• Medicare/Medicaid experience (1+ years)
• Outpatient coding experience (1+ years)
• Coding certifications: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CDIP, CCDS
• Typing speed at least 45 wpm
• HIPAA confidentiality requirements
• Mastery of ICD-9-CM and ICD-10 guidelines

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records to extract pertinent details.
• Craft defensible appeal letters per process instructions and guidance.
• Interpret ICD-9/ICD-10, CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Educate clients on coding and compliance best practices.
• Participate in Administrative Law Judge hearings as a representative during tele-hearings.
• Maintain timely completion of cases while ensuring high-quality reviews.
