Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One of the listed coding certifications (CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CDIP, CCDS).
• 1+ years inpatient coding experience.
• 1+ years DRG methodology experience.
• 1+ years outpatient coding experience.
• 1+ years Medicare/Medicaid experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and extract relevant case details from patient medical records.
• Craft defensible appeal letters per process instructions and guidance.
• Utilize coding guidelines (ICD-9/10, CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS) and medical literature references.
• Participate in administrative hearings as needed.
• Maintain accuracy, meet time expectations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
