Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Coding Education Specialist to develop and coordinate coding educational programs across the organization. This role promotes consistency and accuracy in coding and documentation, acting as a liaison between providers, coding teams, and educational departments.

The ideal candidate will lead training on coding processes, stay current with regulatory changes, and drive improvements in documentation quality to support optimal code selection and revenue integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, healthcare or related field.
• Three years' experience in coding quality/review.
• Certified coding credentials (CCA/CCS-P/COC/CPC/RHIA/RHIT) preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Assess provider documentation and coding competency to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and deliver training on coding processes.
• Ensure regulatory changes are followed to maintain compliance and revenue integrity.
• Act as SME for providers and coders, guiding daily account processing.
• Establish internal quality reviews and training for providers and coders.
• Audit provider documentation for clarity and code accuracy.
