Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Coding Education Specialist to design, develop, and deliver coding quality initiatives across the Professional Billing program. You will partner with practice leadership, IT, revenue cycle, and clinicians to implement effective education strategies and manage education materials.

The role requires CCS/CCS-P/CPC(CPC-H) credentials and at least three years in E/M or surgical coding, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality, quality, and timely training delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding plus reimbursement activities are required.
• Must be a CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H credential per AHIMA/AAPC.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of strategic coding communication and education plans.
• Lead training sessions on current billing and coding information in the medical field.
• Provide mentoring and education to physicians and feedback to vendors to improve performance.
• Manage the delivery of coding training to leadership and end-users using multiple modalities.
• Review and respond to coding questions and perform chart audits.
