Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator (Remote) to ensure accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding, educate practitioners, and support revenue integrity. The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership and ongoing education for providers across centralized coding teams.

The position offers a daytime schedule with remote flexibility and a strong focus on compliance, documentation quality, and process improvements within Holy Cross Health’s facilities in the DC/Baltimore area region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or RHIT accreditation required.
• 2–5 years of professional coding experience with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS modifiers and payer rules knowledge.
• 3–6 years of coding experience; ability to code from operative reports; auditing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors accuracy of centralized coders’ charge capture and coding with ICD-10, CPT and modifiers.
• Partners with leadership to improve HCC and provider education.
• Reviews patient records for coding and documentation accuracy.
• Educates practitioners on coding, documentation, and compliance.
• Assists in updating CDM methods and pricing models to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Reports to the Manager, Provider Revenue Operations.
