Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator to perform medical record audits, validate diagnoses and procedures, and ensure proper coding under CMS guidelines. This remote role supports ongoing practitioner education and collaboration with leadership to improve coding accuracy.

The position requires CPA/RHIT credentials and 2–5 years of coding experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS modifiers, plus knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified Professional Coder or RHIT accreditation required.
• 2-5 years of professional coding experience with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS modifiers.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing rules.
• 3-6 years of coding experience; able to code from operative reports; prior auditing preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork; interact with diverse populations.
• Confidential handling of patient and organizational information.
• Proficient with Windows and basic email/e-learning software.

Responsibilities

• Monitors accuracy of centralized coders' charge capture and coding.
• Partners with leadership to improve HCC and high-risk scoring.
• Conducts reviews of patient records for coding accuracy.
• Educates practitioners on coding, documentation, and compliance.
• Assists with CDM methodology and pricing models for compliance.
• Reports to the Manager, Provider Revenue Operations.
