Job summary

Saint Francis Health System is seeking a Coder III Specialist to code ER, outpatient, outpatient surgeries, observations and inpatient records. The role requires a CCS certification, a minimum of 3 years of related experience, and proficiency in ICD-10 and basic health information systems.

The coder will handle CCI/medical necessity edits, monitor unbilled work daily, and strive to maintain quality and productivity above 95% while completing continuing education as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) by AHIMA requested.
• Minimum 3 years related coding experience and 80%+ on outpatient/inpatient exams.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and anatomy & physiology; PC/software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Code ER, outpatient, outpatient surgeries, observations and inpatients.
• Address CCI/medical necessity edits; monitor unbilled claims daily.
• Maintain quality ≥95% and productivity ≥95%; complete required CE.
